Anat Baniel Method NeuroMovement Group Class with Transformational Movement Lessons (TML).

IMPROVE THE QUALITY OF YOUR LIFE BY UPGRADING YOUR BRAIN WITH ABM NEUROMOVEMENT®

The Anat Baniel Method® NeuroMovement® recognizes the key role of movement in the development and healthy functioning of the brain and takes advantage of the brain's amazing ability to grow new neural connections at any time in life. With its innovative NeuroMovement lessons and neuroplasticity tools it creates the conditions for this process to happen and gives students the opportunity to explore and form new and more refined patterns for action and thinking. It helps many people to overcome pain and limitation and opens the doors to new possibilities.

HOW DOES IT WORK?

Movement is at the basis of any action we do and part of any experience we have. By bringing attention to our movement, to what we do and how it feels, we give our brain an opportunity to gather information. When there is movement there is change, and it is through the noticing of changes that the brain gets the "food" it needs to upgrade itself and form new solutions.

In a NeuroMovement lesson the teacher either verbally or through gentle touch guides the student to explore different movements and gently introduces new variations and possibilities to the student. Through novelty, variation, the reduction of speed and intensity, and other brain plasticity principles, the method provides the conditions for the brain to wake up and perceive differences in all dimensions, giving it the information it needs to map the body, and evolve a person’s ability to think, feel, move, and organize action better. When the brain can do its job better, everything improves—physical performance levels, cognitive abilities, creativity, and social skills. And we are happier too!

ONE-TO-ONE LESSONS

The one-to-one lessons are completely customized to the particular needs and skill level of each client. They are 30-45 minutes long. Clients are called “students” because the purpose of the sessions is to bring about transformation through experiential learning. The student can be as young as a few days old and all the way up into the 90’s.

The teacher uses gentle touch to connect to the student and help the student feel what they are doing and indicate movement possibilities. This process helps the student to form new neural connections.  New possibilities for movement and thinking emerge. Movements and functions, that have been lost due to injury or a stroke, can be re-learned.

INTENSIVES

An intensive is a series of NeuroMovement lessons done in a short amount of time. Typically, they consist of two lessons per day, and vary from 2-5 days in duration. The reason to do intensives is simple. It's the best format to drive changes quickly. Think of language immersion programs; it's the same concept. The greater number of lessons and their proximity in time allow the student and practitioner to build and expand on what was just learned. The learning stays fresh and the little changes accumulate to turn into more obvious changes. The amount of learning that can happen in, e.g. a series of 8 lessons in 4 days, is exponentially more than in the same number of lessons spread out over several weeks.
